Carpenter

PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF POSITION

  • To perform carpentry and construction tasks in the field.
  • Represent our Company on a daily basis.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

High school diploma and/or GED

OBJECTIVES

As part of a team, assist with Production related tasks, to include:

  • Understanding and performing residential building trades to facilitate completion of a project.
  • Carpenters can be responsible for up to one job site.
  • Assist with process evaluation, development, process documentation, training, and/or other general projects as directed.

GENERAL TASKS

  • Ensure Company and customer satisfaction through professional appearance, expert workmanship and polite communication.
  • Maintain Company tools and equipment in safe working order.
  • On a daily basis, inform the Production Manager of the progress of the project, including any customer concerns, problems, delays, etc.
  • Maintain clients’ homes and ensure cleanliness always!
  • Advise subcontractors of proposed schedule. Verify and confirm material lead times and purchase orders as needed to maintain efficient schedule.
  • Be responsible for the efficient and profitable use of the Company’s time, manpower and materials on each project as included in project estimate sheets.
  • Responsible for tracking the progress and profitability of the projects under his or her supervision and reporting to the Production Manager and/or Lead Carpenter.
  • Ensure the image of the Company is supported by the appearance and activities of the installation teams and job sites.
  • Maintain an operational inventory of necessary tools, safety equipment, equipment and vehicles to perform specific activities assigned by the Production Manager.
  • Receive progress payments and final payment from the client upon completion of the project or as directed by the Production Manager.
  • Seek additional responsibility and guidance from Company management employees as needed to enhance existing skills, learn new skills, and create potential for advancement within the Company.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Be proactive about client and internal communication.
  • Responsible for subcontractor quality control.
  • Use T-Sheets to maintain an accurate log of time by job.
  • Job-site safety and security, as well as protection of the clients’ possessions, children and pets, particularly from dust!

PROJECT MANAGER

PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF POSITION

  • To mentor and develop PRC’s production staff in implementing and maintaining PRC’s production process.
  • Minimize risk to Company by maintaining, developing and teaching best building and project management practices.
  • Ensure all projects are produced profitably and efficiently, and continually debriefed to help the Team learn from our collective challenges.
  • To oversee and participate in the training and development of our workforce to help them grow into the future responsibilities shared within our job descriptions to help fulfil our Org chart as the business grows.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

High school diploma and/or GED from School of Hard Knocks. EPA RRP Certification (either current or obtained within 3 months of start date). Familiar with OSHA compliance with respect to the work we do both now and in the future. Additional training and education is expected and will be supported.

OBJECTIVES

  • Build self-directed work teams to keep up with the growth and sales volume goals of the business.
  • Understand and participate in PRC’s strategic marketing and growth objectives to ensure continuty of those objectives within the day-to-day activities of the production department.
  • Coordinate, schedule and oversee PRC projects in order to achieve annual goals as they relate to produced volume and gross profit margins.
  • Assist with process evaluation, development, process documentation, training, and general continuous improvement, and/or other general projects in support of the Company business plan.
  • Maintain relationship with Homeowners. You are the face of PRC management; be a good face.

GENERAL TASKS

  • Ensure Company and customer satisfaction through professional appearance, expert workmanship and polite communication.
  • Conduct regular production meetings with Lead Carpenters and Sales.
  • Maintain a collaborative master schedule for production.
  • Manage, schedule and qualify incoming work orders. Don’t allow projects with inadequate specs/plans to go to production.
  • Build and maintain a “List of Approved Subcontractors” as a resource for Lead Carpenters to use on jobs. This includes Subcontractor compliance with PRC’s policies for same.
  • Be responsible for the efficient and profitable use of the Company’s time, resources, manpower and materials on each project as included in project estimate sheets.
  • Responsible for tracking the progress and profitability of the projects under his or her supervision to ensure they consistently meet schedule and budget targets.
  • Insure the image of the Company and our brand is positively supported by the appearance and activities of the production teams and job sites.
  • Oversee operational inventory of necessary tools, safety equipment, vehicles, regulatory compliance as needed for production of PRC jobs and assist in developing checklists to facilitate same.
  • Participate in supporting the financial billing and collectionactivities of the Company.
  • Assist in the Company’s marketing program as directed by management, which may include: canvassing, home shows, job site marketing, customer satisfaction, etc.
  • Maintain the availability of Company lead sheets for all field inquiries from potential prospects and submit completed sheets to Sales.
  • Attend seminars, trade shows and other educational opportunities as needed to obtain new business knowledge, product knowledge, new installation procedures and maintain compliance where required.
  • Seek additional responsibility and guidance from Company management employees as needed to enhance existing skills, learn new skills, and create potential for advancement within the Company.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Material take-offs, orders, quality, deliveries and onsite protections.
  • Other employee’s performance, efficiency, appearance, training and time keeping.
  • Subcontractor schedules, layouts and payment approvals.
  • Jobsite safety and security, as well as protection of the clients’ possessions, children and pets, particularly from dust!
  • Code issues, inspections, door swings, window sizes, and proper grading of lumber to be used.
  • Communication with the client regarding schedule, product selection, expectations, questions, and satisfaction.
  • Change orders, additional work orders, invoices, collections, etc.
  • Understand and maintain RRP compliance.
  • May be required to document jobsites via pictures and video.
  • Authority to resolve issues up to $500.00. Any issues valued over $500 will be reviewed by CEO.
